WOW! It has officially been over a year since the stunning wedding of our own Kelsey and her husband Matt! It is always fun to watch one of your favorite people get married, and anyone who comes to the venue meets, and instantly falls in love with, Kelsey. We are SO excited to share her and Matt’s big day with you all!
An Experience
Like we said, if you have been to the French Farmhouse- you have met Kelsey! We were not shocked one bit when she started describing the bright colors and unique experiences she wanted for her big day. She was planning SO many things we had never seen at the Farmhouse. Kelsey and her girls got ready at a hotel in Plano, so once they arrived mid-day Kelsey got to do a “first look” at the Chapel with her Mom, our incredible owner, Michelle, by her side. This was such a special moment because Kelsey and Michelle have poured their hearts and souls into every inch of the French Farmhouse! Seeing their reaction was magical!
Kelsey and Matt really wanted to create an experience for their guests. They wanted it to feel special, and be a great party. From the moment guests arrived, it was just that. Guests strolling to the Chapel for ceremony were greeted by live musicians playing strings in the trees and glasses of champagne with the Thompsons monogram on the glasses.
Ceremony
We are absolutely biased, but this ceremony was perfect! Every ounce of it was Kelsey and Matt. Their personalities, the florals and the Chapel being packed to the brim…it could not have been more “them”! On top of it all, they had the cutest, furriest ring bearer who you may have seen on our Instagram before. This is Kelsey’s beloved pup Jax- we wouldn’t say he stole the show or anything, but he really had some memorable moments.
After Kelsey and Matt were officially announced as Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the turf behind the venue. The live musicians relocated for cocktail hour, and lounge seating was placed around a HUGE circular bar for guests to enjoy.
One BIG difference in Kelsey and Matt’s day compared to a typical FFH reception, is that the main venue was used only for dinner. Usually, couples eat and party in the main venue, but the Thompson’s had a trick up their sleeve.
The Flip of All Flips
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was after dinner. While guests were enjoying their delicious meal, the Chapel was being flipped for party time! A crew of 60+ people came in and completely transformed the chapel from a stunning Ceremony site to a room ready for a party! They installed a stage for the amazing Jordan Kahn Orchestra, the dance floor was laid, a dessert bar came in, coffee and regular bars were set up, a 360 photo booth and *the* cake was assembled.
Guests jaws were on the floor as they came in. They were greeted by a live band, and a completely transformed space!
It was one of the most special evenings celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, and one of the most fun parties the French Farmhouse has ever seen.
Congratulations, Kelsey and Matt! On behalf of the entire French Farmhouse team- we love you guys and are so happy for you! Thanks for letting us be a part of your big day!
