About Our Family
Michelle and Steve are high school sweethearts from Denton, Texas. Throughout their life together they have experienced incredible blessings, including triplets! Several blessings later they ended up with 56-acres in Mountain Springs, Texas. They knew God had something bigger in store for their land than using it just for cattle to roam! After attending several weddings the idea sparked that with Michelle’s love for architecture and design, and her daughter Kelsey’s passion for running events, God had a wedding venue in store!!
The doors of The French Farmhouse opened in September 2020, and every day has been a blessing. We have hosted some of the most amazing couples, and have been lucky enough to see the vision of their wedding day come to life. We are so thankful, and it is such a blessing that we get to share your big day with you!!

After 25 years as a flight attendant and 20 years in the Real Estate business with her husband and Broker Steve she is combining her love of travel and curating french pieces to design a one-of-a-kind venue. With experience in custom home design and a love for all things french Michelle has curated architectural pieces from all over the world to make The French Farmhouse as unique as you are!
Kelsey Scribner
Co-Owner / Venue Director
Full of energy & taking on the wedding industry! Kelsey was born and raised in Aubrey, Texas and went to Texas A&M University (Gig 'em!) earning a degree in Communications and Sports Management! After graduation she joined the sports event management business for 4+ years with PrimeTime Sports! Her experience in event management has prepared her for this role of helping two families come together as one!! Kelsey has been the one behind over 850 weddings at The French Farmhouse Venue. She married her husband Matthew Thompson in 2022 as one of the first weddings in the chapel, and they now have two boys — Banks and Knox. Maddie Thorn
Event Specialist & In-House Wedding Planner
Maddie started as an intern at The French Farmhouse right when the amazing Scribner Family opened the doors! Since then, she has been a part of nearly 500 weddings and is the full time Event Specialist and in-house wedding planner — so it is safe to say she knows this venue like the back of her hand. Maddie grew up in Wisconsin but has lived in Texas most of her life. She attended the University of North Texas where she studied Event Design, and always dreamed of getting to work in weddings. She truly feels like she is exactly where she is meant to be! Her absolute favorite parts are meeting couples on their very first tour, answering a million planning questions, dreaming up design details and then getting to watch it all come to life on their wedding day. Maddie loves being the go-to girl throughout the entire process, creating seamless wedding days and making sure every couple feels like every detail is handled so they can truly enjoy the experience.
