Future Wedding: K’Lea + Adison

Meet K’Lea & Adison! These two love birds are tying the knot on September 6, 2020 at The French Farmhouse Venue!

How did you and Adison meet?

We originally met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in May 2015. There was definitely some flirting going on from my end (K’Lea), but according to Adison, he didn’t pick up on it because he “saw her and immediately decided [he] would never have a chance with this girl”. We saw each other a few more times at the college ministry we attended, but it was a lot more of the same thing- me having a huge crush on this guy and him not receiving ANY signals because of his preconceived notions about me, and not paying any attention to me because of it. Then, Adison seemingly disappeared until May 2016 because of his work schedule. He reappeared at our college ministry (with several more inches of beautiful, curly, dirty-blonde hair I might add-he had a buzz cut before) and I basically SWOONED. I still remember exactly what he was wearing that day. I nonchalantly took note of which table he set his stuff on for the service, and set my stuff at the table right by his so that I could “bump” into him at some point. I couldn’t focus the whole service because I kept staring at him (what a creep, right?). After the service was over, I “bumped” into him and said something along the lines of “Wow, haven’t seen you in awhile! What are the odds we would sit right next to each other?!”. We talked for a bit and then later I asked him and one of our mutual friends, Xavier, to go to Waffle House. Adison and I ended up going right away but Xavier drove by and decided not to go in because he saw us talking and laughing with one another. I am so happy he did. For awhile, the relationship seemed like a super flirty friendship. I was transferring to Baylor in the fall and was trying my hardest not to date anyone before I left. But the super flirty friendship grew into what we deemed a “summer romance” which completely failed because we’ve now been together for over 3.5 years. We’ve been long distance for 2.5 of those years and will finally be in the same city in a week! I am so thankful for our relationship and love reflecting on how it all began.

How did he propose?

Adison proposed on December 7th, 2019, the day after my birthday. He had a lot of fun stuff planned out for that weekend (a lot of which I figured out and became a little suspicious). On Friday the 6th, the night of my birthday, we went and watched a live show of our favorite podcast: Crime Junkies. On Saturday, we went and watched the Big 12 Championship between Baylor and OU, and then went to my favorite restaurant in Dallas. The one part I didn’t figure out was that we would be going to watch The Nutcracker afterwards-my favorite ballet that I have loved since I was in it in 6th & 7th grade. The show was amazing, and afterwards we started walking out and I noticed that Adison was acting a little weird. It was FREEZING outside so I was insisting that we walk to the car, but he kept saying “Hold on, I want to look at this thing over here”. In this moment I was freaking out inside because I knew what was coming. We were walking around a large reflection pool under some trees filled with christmas lights, and out of nowhere I saw my dad. I asked what was going on and Adison started saying something along the lines of “I have loved you for 1,284 days, but that’s not enough for me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” He got down on one knee, his voice shaking like crazy and his hands doing the same, and said “Will you marry me?”. I honestly didn’t really remember much of what he said because I was just waiting to say “YES!!!!”. All of our closest friends and family were there, and we had our photographer friends take pictures of all of it. The whole night felt like such a dream.

Why did you chose The French Farmhouse Venue?

We chose the French Farmhouse because it was so different from the other venues we had looked at that had left a very bitter taste in our mouths. When I say different, I mean that the whole experience felt very personal and special. Michelle made it feel like home and we felt like it was more about us and creating a very special day than it was about the venue receiving a check. Michelle designed everything with such purpose, and the venue is surrounded by so much beautiful, quiet space that is away from all the noise. We love that we have the ability to come back and revisit the place where we got married and pray on the prayer trail, and all of the really special touches that have gone into this venue. We are so excited to get married here!!!

What are you most excited about getting married?

We are most excited about just getting to experience everything together, and being in the same town with our best friend. Experiencing new life stages, the pursuit of different goals, and being together during successes and in failures. The ability to have your best friend by your side through everything will be the sweetest blessing.

Future Wedding: Charity & Chris

Introducing Charity & Chris… Read all about their awesome love story that all started on the basketball court at SFA! We can’t wait for these two to say “I Do” on March 21, 2021!!

How did you and Chris meet?

Christopher and I met as students at a Stephen F. Austin basketball game. I was a cheerleader and he was working on his internship with athletics. I just so happened to place my water bottle behind the chair he was working from; so, every time I needed a drink I had to make small talk with him. (I mean he was the cute boy in the corner, who always caught my eye with his perfect fitting khaki pants… How could I pass up an opportunity like that!) I had made sure that would be my designated spot to put my water all season long. Throughout the season the small talk turned into conversation and eventually flirty comments. One moment that I will never forget is when I got hit in the face with a basketball DURING the game. I had been so embarrassed, I started to cry. Not only did the whole stadium see the ball hit my face but the one person I didn’t want to see, Christopher, had a front row seat!! I then remembered… my dang water bottle was behind his chair. So, I had no choice but to walk over where he was. He had already grabbed my water from behind his chair to have ready for me. I remember seeing him waiting there, with his sympathetic grin, a grin that made me feel safe and no longer afraid if he saw me cry. I told him the reason I was crying was from embarrassment and that the basketball did not hurt. I went on to say that I was worried all my crying had messed up my makeup. He gave me that same grin and with such a gentleman-like tone said, “You look great”. I will forever keep that memory, it was the most genuine compliment I had ever received. That had been one of the last basketball games before we went on break. Over Christmas break we did not keep up with each other. When the semester started back up we were surprised to find ourselves in the same business class. This is how it happened…

The Second Epic Meeting: Christopher was on his way to Mrs. “Cathy” Henderson’s, Spring 2018 Management class on the first day of the semester. He was running behind schedule and walked into an already full classroom. He had a decision to make. He could have chosen the seat in the back on the other side of the classroom OR he could sit by the cute blonde on the front row. Of course, he chose the cute blonde. When he first walked up, we did not recognize each other, and he asked if the seat was taken. I looked up and we instantly caught each other’s eyes! He then said, and I quote “Oh Sh** it’s you!”. I giggled and had told him this seat was open. It did not take us long to get each other’s number. Christopher was really smooth and told me he wanted my number, so I could remind him to do his homework. Come to find out, he is actually a very organized student. Later in the semester we had to pick a group for our final project. We of course chose each other and then two other classmates. When we had to meet up for the group project, I really started to see Chris’s leadershippersonality shine through. I had a weird feeling letting him take over when usually I was the leader. Skip to the end of the semester, our project took first place and won the cash prize. Our relationship continued to blossom that semester. He walked me to class every week from my Hall 20 dorm room. Mrs. Henderson’s class will always be our favorite because it was the beginning of forever. Christopher says he knew when he sat next to me in that class it was “game over”. He was locking me up.

How did Chris Propose?

December 20, 2019, I woke up expecting to spend the day moving out of my college apartment and moving into my new apartment in Houston. Christopher told me before we left to dress cute because we would be getting brunch with his Grandparents when we got to Nacogdoches. I did not realize I needed to dress “proposal cute”. The night before I asked him if I should wash my hair. He said it would be fine because we will be moving tomorrow…LOL. So, I didn’t wash my hair and just wore it in a ponytail, which I was okay with since it was just brunch. I also had not packed anything super stylish (I brought a sweater that I bought a couple days prior at Good Will). I brought it with the intention of it being used for brunch then shoved in a bag afterward. Before we made it to brunch,Chris said he wanted to pick up a commemorative basketball from the coliseum that a friend was holding for him. When we arrived it was 8:30 a.m. I was still waking up and was not mentally ready to be social yet. I tried to get him to leave me in the truck. He persisted that I should come in with him. So,after the third time of asking me to come in, I finally got out of the truck and walked in with him. As we walk in I still had zero idea what the true reason was for us being there. We walkeddown to the court to meet his friend who allegedly had the basketball. We made small talk and then Chris said he wanted to go look at the tunnel that was being built on the other side of the court. I agreed and followed him out to the center. As we got closer to the center of the court he startedto squeeze my hand multiple times. At that moment reality hit me like a bus, the reality that the love of my life was about to ask me to be with him forever. He had tears filling his eyes and that same sweet grin from before. I had known this was coming for a while but had absolutely no idea that day would be today. He pulled me out from the center to where we could read the Jumbo-Tron, it read “Will You Marry Me?” before he even asked I started saying yes, yes, yes! He then pulled me back to the center and got down on one knee. He pulled out the ring case and said, will you marry me? I grasped his face with both my hands and said YES! The ring was the last thing on my mind, but when he opened the box I instantly fell in love. He had picked it out with his family at a local jewelry store in Nacogdoches (the town we met in). The ring fit me so well and represented me perfectly. It was more perfect than any ring I would have ever chosen for myself. We are set to get married on March 21st, 2021!

Why did you chose the French Farmhouse Venue!

There are numerous reasons why this venue felt like the most perfect fit for our day. I love the style of the French Farmhouse, it was so easy to envision how immaculate and unique this venue will be once it is complete. The first and most important feature is the wedding tree. I find it so symbolic that the tree we will be married in front of is actually two trees that merged together and became one beautiful tree. (Genesis 2:24) My next favorite is the bridal suite, it faces outward to where I will be able to watch all of our loved ones arrive to celebrate our union. I love that the wall of windows will have a large door from France that has been beautifully carved and crafted with the depiction of a 3-ring cord. (Ecclesiastes 4:12) This will be the perfect backdrop for our head table. The table will be facing all of our guests and we can sit back and enjoy OUR party. There is so much more that I adore about this venue. Kelsey did such a great job at helping me envision their vision. I feel they will make each wedding uniquely special for every couple. This will be the most perfect venue to celebrate such a wonderful occasion.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

Future Wedding: Blake & Brooke

Meet Brooke & Blake .. We can’t wait for them to say “I DO” and dance the night away at The Farmhouse Venue on November 21, 2020!

How did you and Blake meet?

Blake says we met twice before but I say we officially met at the Luau which was the only bar all the college kids went to in our college town in Kingsville, TX! I had already up and left to San Antonio but Blake still had one year left until he graduated. I had come into town to visit a friend and we of course went out to the Lu to have some drinks, laugh & dance! Little did I know I’d be dancing the night away with my future husband! Although, when I did officially shake his hand and meet him that night at the bar I do remember thinking “Who is this guy & I think I’m interested!” We had met through a mutual friend whom is actually one of his best friends and roommate at the time. He asked me to dance to a country song that I wish I remembered but when I noticed his swift moves & amazing cologne I was instantly intrigued! We immediately began seeing each other each weekend and that’s how our love story began, in little ol’ Kingsville, Texas!

How/when did Blake propose ?

December 27, 2019 Blake was supposed to be at work on a Friday (also my birthday) but really he was secretly at a winery in Grapevine that we used to be members of, Messina Hof decorating & setting up a room for the proposal with his family! I knew we had reservations at our favorite restaurant in Grapevine, Farina’s Winery but I had no idea that he would propose at Messina Hof just before we got to the restaurant. He did well by choosing my birthday so that I wouldn’t know what he was up to and I would be dressed nicely because hello, turning 27! Anyway, we started the night by grabbing a cocktail at Bottled In Bond in Frisco (probably so we wouldn’t run into family walking into Farina’s) then we made our way to Messina Hof & while grabbing a glass of wine he mentioned something about a dinner reservation to the bartender. At this point I was confused but he said “I just did a little something extra for your birthday.” (a LITTLE extra (; ) So we headed upstairs toward a closed door and he let me go ahead of him. When I opened up the door a photographer in the corner immediately started snapping photos (At first I felt like Beyonce getting her photo taken by poparatzi). Then I noticed the extravagant setup in the corner with huge, beautiful flowers, lit candles and on the lower table a ring box with a bright light shinning down on a beautiful diamond ring. (Blake had the ring set out on the table because I like to love on him and hug him and he didn’t want me to feel the ring box). We walked up the the table, he closed the box (LOL because I had seen the ring already) and he asked me to marry him! I said OF COURSE (about damn time in my head lol) then we headed over to Farina’s to find MOST of his family and mine there ready to celebrate with us! It was so special and such an amazing night that I’ll never forget.

Why did you choose The French Farmhouse Venue?

Blake & I wanted to sign the contract before we left the property but we had two more tours the next day and we wanted to give them a chance. While the other two were also beautiful they just didn’t feel as perfect as The French Farmhouse did. Not to mention, the experience of touring venues is so so important and we quickly learned that the owner, Michelle & daughter Kelsey at The French Farmhouse blew the hospitality standards out of the water!! We love everything about our venue from the gorgeous French pieces to the beautiful gravel road you drive down to get to the property. We couldn’t have envisioned a better place to have our special day with the people we love. Thank you, French Farmhouse for being so welcoming & friendly while helping us envision our big day! & for creating such a breathtaking space for people to celebrate their love.

What are you most excited about getting married?

We are most excited to wake up next to each other as husband and wife knowing that we are official and we’ve made it known to each other and our families that we are 100% committed to each other. We’ve been through loss, happiness, tough decisions, and adulating over the last three and a half years of dating and I love that I get to continue growing as an individual and as a unity with Blake. He is the most selfless, warm-hearted, hard working man I’ve ever known and I will proudly mirror his love and efforts as we grow through this life together.

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:14

Future Wedding: Toby & Ashley

Introducing Ashley and Toby, these two will be having a Christmas Wedding and will be saying

“I Do” on December 20, 2020!

How did we meet?

“Nothing compares with the finding of true love; because once you do your heart is complete.” It seems like we searched forever for each other but as soon as we met, we knew. Toby and I met on a social networking site in October of 2016. We were both teachers, 4th and 7th grade, teaching the same subject, Texas History. We began talking and found that was not the only thing we had in common. We both love music and collecting vinyl records. After talking for a few weeks, we decided to meet in person. Toby wanted me to see one of his favorite record stores, so we decided to meet there. This record store, Josey Records, is where we feel in love. It was an instant love, and we never looked back. Now we have a daughter, named Josephine, that was born in July. We call her Josie, to commemorate the place where we first fell in love.

How did Toby propose?

On Labor Day weekend, Toby and I decided to take our daughter to our favorite park, Celestial Park in Addison. We have had dates there and we took our maternity pictures there, and it’s just a beautiful park. So we loaded Josie up, who was only about a month and half old, and headed to Addison. We walked up to the sun dial part of the park, that overlooks the whole area. I had turned around to look and when I turned back, Toby was getting down on one knee to ask me to be his wife. In true Toby fashion, he dropped the ring in the grass from being so nervous! It was a perfect moment that fully captures our love and life together.

Why did we choose the French Farmhouse?

I immediately knew when I pulled into the driveway that this would be the place we would become husband and wife. I had been chatting with the sweet Kelsey about the venue, and felt very confident in what I would find at the French Farmhouse. Upon meeting Michelle, I felt completely at ease and sure. She is such a sweet person with such a wonderful vision for each couple and how to connect the property. We instantly connected when discussing the prayer trail and what it meant to her. Even though the venue is currently in progress, the style and the grace is absolutely shown throughout the entire property. I just immediately felt a connection to Michelle and her vision.

What am I most excited about on our wedding day?

I am excited to showcase our love of each other, our daughter, and our family and friends. It will be a very loving and inclusive affair. Our good friend, Jesse, will be our officiant while we will also be incorporating our closest family and friends. I just can’t wait for us all to become one. I love that everyone will be together, for us. I am so glad to have found the French Farmhouse, which will be the perfect setting for our special wedding.

Future Wedding: Jake + Nicole

Meet Jake & Nicole…these two will be tying the knot at The French Farmhouse Venue!

How did you meet?

We actually met at a random social function in college that I wasn’t supposed to go to, but my friends convinced me. We had mutual friends and had crossed paths so many times but never met, which is so crazy! So one of his friends introduced us and we immediately hit it off. After that day he asked me out on a date the next day and took me to Chiloso (my favorite place to eat) and we’ve been together ever since.

How did Jake propose?

We had planned on going to the Pumpkin Nights in Arlington on  with a couple friends on a random Friday. Later that week when the plans were already made Jake decided that would be the perfect time to propose. So Jake had my best friend distract me all day so he could prepare for that night. Then once we got inside, we went to the first picture location and that is when he popped the question! He actually had a pumpkin made that said ‘Will you marry me, Nicole?’ and I was so in shock!!

Why did you choose The French Farmhouse Venue?

We chose the French Farmhouse because even though its not built yet, Michelle can literally paint the images perfectly for you and its perfect! We honestly didn’t even look anywhere else because we couldn’t imagine our special day anywhere else. Other than the fact that the venue is amazing, Kelsey and Michelle have made us feel so welcomed and truly care about us and our wedding. I can’t wait to watch this place get built and see how gorgeous it turns out!

What are you most excited about getting married?

I can’t wait to have every person that is special to us all together to celebrate one of the greatest days of our lives!!

See you two at the alter on September 18, 2020!!

Future Wedding: Desiree + Jeremy

Meet Jeremy & Desiree! This fun couple was one of the very first couples to come tour at The French Farmhouse Venue and we feel in love with them right away! We can’t wait for October 10, 2020!

How Did You & Jeremy Meet?

Jeremy and I technically met when I was 14. However, we officially met when I was 19 and he was 24. It was October of 2013, I met my best friend, and matron of honor, at a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in our hometown, Stephenville, Texas. I was reluctant to go out because I had two finals the next day and a trip out of town but I decided to go! While at Fuzzy’s a guy (Jeremy) showed up and sat beside me. He knew my best friends husband so they were talking and he introduced himself to me and it struck a memory from when I was 14. This memory was of a time when I was at a car wash, where all the cool kids hung out, and I leaned up against a blue lowered truck. As soon as I touched the truck a random guy (Jeremy) yelled at me to get off of the truck because it wasn’t mine and it had just been painted! Fast forward to Fuzzy’s I reminded him of this time. We talked a little and left for the night. Later that night I was feeling rebellious and added him on Facebook. He sent me a message first apologizing for his shenanigans at the car wash and we hit it off from there. For our first date he took me on a motorcycle ride and was introduced to his mother that same day. We have been inseparable ever since.

How did Jeremy Propose?

Jeremy proposed on our six year anniversary trip. He took me to Mena, Arkansas to the Wolfpen Gap Campground and proposed to me inside of our cabin. We are actually getting married the day before our seven year anniversary!

Why did you chose The French Farmhouse Venue?

We chose the French Farmhouse Venue because it felt like home. We wanted something that would be beautiful on its own that I could add a few pieces to bring out style out. As soon as we drove up to the property I was instantly in love. It’s absolutely beautiful. Once I was inside the Inn and able to see the style and intricate details I was consumed with joy and butterflies. Jeremy and I both knew this was the place we wanted to say “I do.”

What are you most excited about for your big day?

I’m most excited to marry my best friend. We have been together for six years now and it’s about time! I’m also looking forward to the experience as a whole and celebrating our relationship and commitment to each other with all of our family and friends.

Future Wedding: Lauren + Rob

Meet Lauren and Rob! These two will be saying “I DO” on November 22, 2020 at The French Farmhouse Venue and we can’t wait!

How Did you and Rob Meet?

I came across Robs Facebook back in 2010 when we were both in high school. I thought he was super handsome and exactly my type in the looks department. I wasn’t even expecting to talk to him ever. I just added him to creep on his pictures hahah. I thought he was way out of my league anyway and he actually had a girlfriend at the time! After they broke up he ended up messaging me and we texted for about a week but he was in Lubbock and I was in DFW (and I was scared to meet up with people online) so it fizzled out. Fast forward TWO YEARS to 2012 and he messaged me again on Facebook. This time I was a little older and not as nervous to meet up with someone online so we met up and have been inseparable ever since!

How did Rob Propose?

He proposed On thanksgiving 2019! He took advantage of all of his family being here from El Paso for thanksgiving because he really wanted them to all be there for the proposal. Before the proposal he cut his hand on his pocket knife while opening a can for his aunt and needed stitches later…but that wasn’t going to stop him! He popped the question right after the prayer for our meal and it was 7.5 years coming so I sobbed like a baby of course!

Why did you choose The French Farmhouse Venue?

We chose the French farmhouse because it just felt right! We didn’t even view any other venue (other than online) because we felt so at home when we came to tour! Even though it’s not even built yet we can tell it’s going to be gorgeous and so unique compared to other venues in the area! We also love how much effort you guys are putting into the grooms suite because I want our wedding to be OUR big day and not all about me! Everything feels so personal and like family and not just a big business at the French Farmhouse so we are really excited about that!

What are you most excited about for your big day?

I am most excited about when the doors open and we see each other at the ends of the aisle. It’s such a movie moment that you imagine your whole life! That’ll be so surreal to experience!

Future Wedding: Emily + Kyle

Introducing Kyle and Emily, The Future Mr. & Mrs. Hodges!! Kyle brought out the equipment for the venue construction and next thing you know is they found their wedding venue!! We can’t wait for these two to get married on October 24, 2020!

Question: How did you meet?

Answer: We actually met each other when we were about 5 years old. Our parents were friends before we were even thought of. We remember spending time together at the lake and many Relay for Life volunteer events. Once we were older and more involved in school, we didn’t see much of each other growing up on opposite ends of Denton. The next time I saw Kyle was at my high school graduation, when I invited his mom and he ended up coming along. After that we went our separate ways to college. Low and behold two and a half years later, we ran back into each other one night when we were out with friends. We hit it off like no time had passed, and I eventually pursued my nursing degree at Sam Houston State. Where Kyle was playing golf on scholarship and working toward his business degree. Once we both graduated, we moved back to Denton, and I would say the rest is history!

How did Kyle propose?

It’s Emily here, from my side of it we were just having a family dinner to celebrate his sister being home form Scotland. We were all meeting at his parents house because Kyle’s mom wanted to take family pictures for Christmas cards since we are leaving on a family trip to Scotland in November. After I finished getting ready we were about to walkout of the apartment and I needed to put my rings on (thumb and right ring finger.) As I was putting on my rings Kyle said to me “aren’t you missing a ring”… this is his ohh so sarcastic personality coming out. Since I knew he was joking we just laughed it off. Once we arrived to his parents house, we made our way to the patio. As usual I take the camera, and take their photo, then just one of Kyle and Kelsey. Kyle said to me “hey let’s go ahead and take one too.” Since we have been really bad about taking pictures when we have been dressed up lately, I didn’t think anything of it. We take our picture, and my goofy self is making funny faces after we took the serious ones. Until I feel Kyle kinda pull away from me, all the sudden I see him unzip his vest pocket and get down on one knee!! Of course I said YES!!!!!!!! Then we were off to the family dinner that was planned just for us!!!

What are you most excited about getting married/ your wedding day?

We are looking forward to the next chapter of our life. Finding our first home and starting a family. Maybe adding another dog to the mix also. Cooper needs a friend to run around with in the backyard we have pictured. We get to be husband and wife, centering our marriage around God and the love we have for each other. We are also ready to share this day and celebration with all of our friends and family. Now just to wait for October 24, 2020!!

Why Did you choose The French Farmhouse Venue?

This was the first venue that we visited in search for our perfect day. Kyle is providing the equipment for the construction, at this stage in the building process. We decided to come out and see what it was all about. We spent some time looking at different venues as well, but never found one quite like The French Farmhouse. Michelle, Kelsey, and Steve welcomed us with open arms making us feel like a part of their family, and that left a lasting impression on us. We have already seen the heart Michelle and Kelsey have for each and every couple.

October 24, 2020 can not get here fast enough!!

Future Wedding: Madie + Anthony

Meet Madie + Anthony! The Future Mrs. & Mr. Brown are going to be getting married at The French Farmhouse on October 2, 2020! Madie is a woman with a vision and we are so excited to see what these two sweet souls have in store for their big day!

Question: How did y’all meet?

Answer: We are high school sweethearts!

Question: How did you get engaged?

Answer: Anthony and I took a weekend trip to visit one of his best friends in New Orleans. He proposed in front of the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter! It was a COMPLETE surprise (though it was definitely time…we’ve been together for over 7 years!). He had the ring hidden in the cup holder in the back seat of the car. He actually proposed on July 20, 2019 which is also my sister’s birthday!

Question: Why did you pick the French farmhouse and when is your big day

Answer: exactly what I was looking for in a venue! We wanted somewhere out of busy Dallas, but not too far for friends and family. On a big, beautiful piece of land with lots of lights. We wanted options for the ceremony to be outdoors and reception to be inside without having two separate locations. Even though the venue isn’t complete yet, Michelle painted a PERFECT picture of what it would look like. I knew that this was our place! Our special day is October 2, 2020.

Question: What is the one thing you are most excited about ?

Answer: Besides marrying Anthony of course, I’m most excited about having all of our friends and family together in one place. I also can’t wait to see my wedding dreams become a reality!

Future Wedding: Baylee + Geo

Introducing Baylee Friday & Geo Kennedy, one of the first couples to be getting married at The French Farmhouse Venue! If you get the chance to meet them and spend more than 5 seconds with them you know they are head over heels in love with each other. We cannot wait for October 11, 2020 to be a part of Baylee & Geo’s big day and a life time of happiness!

Question: How did you meet?

Answer: Geo and I met for the first time when we were both babies in college … we just didn’t realize it. Back in the day, he liked to run around campus dressed as a certain masked superhero— a superhero that I happened to be in love with. One day, after a year of watching this masked mystery kid run around school, I finally got the courage to go up and ask for a picture with him. The first thing I think I said was, “Hi— you don’t know me, but I love you!” We snapped the picture and went our separate ways. Fast forward a couple years. We were both seniors and needed a few extra elective credits to graduate. We ended up in an intro to music class together … neither of us wanted to be in it, but it was one of the only electives that still had openings that late in the semester. We were the only two seniors in a class full of freshman. Geo saw me and says he was immediately stricken by my great beauty. He would play piano before class and I would sing with him. He wooed me right before I graduated and eventually revealed his secret identity to me … although it took some investigating on my part!

Question: When/How did you get engaged?

Answer: We got engaged on April 19, 2019 and I was SO SURPRISED. My birthday is on the 18th, and Geo said he wanted to throw me a giant birthday party. I remember thinking it was super weird because I was turning 23— not an age usually celebrated with elaborate parties. But he really wanted to, and he got my mom onboard, so I went along with it. They hired a 19 piece swing band and rented out the ballroom Geo and I take dance lessons in. They decked it out with balloons and beautiful decorations and threw a huge party with all our friends and family … and then BAM. The plan was revealed! Geo called me up for a toast. He’d tied a red ribbon around my champagne glass … side note, when we first met, Geo and I were notorious for passing notes in class. And on that red ribbon he’d written my favorite note so far! You can guess what it said. I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t even wait for Geo to ask the question himself. I said yes and then the birthday party (which had been a ruse all along) turned into an engagement party … just like they planned.

Question: Why did you choose The French Farmhouse?

Answer: They say: “When you know, you know.” That’s how it was with the French Farmhouse. We’ve looked at so many venues all around the area and even in Dallas and Fort Worth … but none of them fully clicked. Then we came and saw the inn and the grounds and just knew it was right. We love the rural setting most of all. The drive out is beautiful, and when we saw the gorgeous tree in the back, we could picture our wedding underneath it. That’s all it took!

Question: What are we most excited about getting married ?

Answer: All of it! At the end of the day, we’re just so excited to get married! We’ve been talking about this since the very beginning of our relationship, actually. We both feel incredibly thankful that God has blessed us with one another. We’re so excited to start this big beautiful journey, and to understand the love of the Lord in a deeper and more meaningful way than ever before. To have a best friend for life— a slumber party partner and movie bud and cooking counterpart— it’s one of God’s best gifts and life’s greatest joys. We can’t wait!
