The French Farmhouse Venue
Next Month Is Wedding Month!
From Kelsey Scribner & Maddie Thorn
Hello (Very Soon) Bride to be,
Your BIG DAY is next month — can you believe it? I hope that you soak in every last bit of these final days and cherish every moment. I have sent over a questionnaire from Planning Pod so please let me know if you did not receive it. I will also need your vendor list, floor plan, and timeline from your planner to ensure we have all your information for the best day possible. It is best to wait until you have all your information finalized before you send it over. Please schedule a final planning meeting with you and your planner if you have not done so already.
I know as the time approaches, the stress comes and the to-do lists pile up — but today I want you to know I am praying and thinking of you! Please let me know if you have any questions. I am always here to help!
Love,
Kelsey & The French Farmhouse Venue Team
Rehearsal
Please check with Kelsey on your rehearsal. Unless you have a wedding on a Thursday or Friday, there is a strong chance that you will have to do your rehearsal on the day of or off site. Day-of rehearsals are awesome because everyone is already on property — the bride can stay and relax in the bridal suite while whoever is walking you down the aisle goes to the rehearsal and leads the way. If you are available to have a rehearsal the night before, we do require your planner to be in attendance.
Ceremony
Please make your way over to the mini bridal suite in the chapel 45 minutes before the ceremony to be hidden from guests and the groom! Real flower petals are allowed, but please no dark colored real petals — silk petals are recommended as they are very clean and do not shed when sweeping. Please make sure your officiant knows to send guests out the back over to cocktail hour. This is the perfect time to ring the bell!
Tables
Just a reminder that we have 10 farmhouse tables total, but one is typically used for the cake stand. If you are using all 10 for guests, please note what size table you would like for the cake and where on your floor plan. We have 10 farmhouse tables, 20 – 60″ rounds, and 5 – 48″ rounds. The 60″ rounds will need a 120″ round linen; the 48″ rounds will need a 108″ round linen. The 8-foot plastic tables will need a 90×156 linen and the 6-foot plastic tables will need a 90×132 linen.
Greenery Wall
The greenery wall is 8×8. If you choose to hang something from it, we recommend using clear or green zip ties.
Bridal Suite
You and your girls will have access to the bridal suite the morning of the wedding at 9 AM. Have clean, dry hair and inspo pictures ready for your hair and make-up team. We suggest bringing snacks and water for your girls — it is a long day! We also suggest having the room tidy and cleaned up before your photographer arrives so there is no trash in photos (let the groomsmen know this too). We also have mini fridges in both the groom’s and bridal suites.
DJ
Unless you have live music, please let your DJ know that you will need a “mini” setup over at the chapel to mic up the officiant and play ceremony music. All ceremony music will need to be downloaded — the chapel does not have Wi-Fi. We have 3 – 6-foot tables, but please double check with your DJ on whether you or they provide a linen for the table.
Lucy (Antique Getaway Car)
Lucy was our antique getaway car, but due to the car getting older and less reliable, all contracts signed after July 2024 do not include Lucy. However, we have the cutest antique car “Trudy” out front for photos! If you are wondering whether you have Lucy or not, you can email Kelsey. If you would like to add Lucy for your wedding day, you can also email her.
Send-Off Items
Please get your send-off items approved by Kelsey (this is on your questionnaire). As long as we are not under a burn ban, sparklers are allowed and we have sand buckets for those. If you are using “no mess” confetti, please confirm the type with Kelsey (send a photo).
Catering & Bartending
We have ice — 600 pounds to be exact. Your bar/catering team may recommend more depending on your guest count and ice needs. We have 3 – 8-foot tables for your caterer to use if needed; please double check whether you or your caterer provides the linens. Just a reminder that your caterer is required to serve the food (whether buffet, plated, family style, or stations) and stay until the end of the night to bus the tables. Please make sure this is confirmed with your caterer. We will park our trash truck outside the kitchen for your caterer to dispose of all trash. Bartenders are not allowed to serve shots and must stop serving alcohol 30 minutes prior to send-off.
Ride Shares
Ubers, Lyfts, etc. are not a reliable source for your guests to get home due to us being in a non-high-traffic area. Please encourage guests to arrange transportation in advance.
End of the Night Clean-Up
Have a game plan for the end of the night. We (the venue) set up all the tables and chairs and handle the deep cleaning after everything is out. You are just responsible for taking all your belongings. There is also typically a lot of leftover food, cake, and florals — if your florist does not come back to clean up, please plan accordingly.
Alcohol Delivery
If you would like your alcohol picked up and dropped off at the venue before you even arrive on wedding day, please email [email protected].
Security Officer
The security officer is $300 and can be paid directly to them on wedding day. If the event runs more than 30 minutes past send-off or is longer than 6 hours, it is $50 per hour for additional time. They will accept cash directly on wedding day. If you are unsure of the amount owed, please feel free to email Kelsey for help!
