Thankful For Our First Year!

Happy Birthday to the French Farmhouse! We are so thankful for the wonderful year we have had. So, we want to share some of the things we are thankful for.

1.Our amazing brides and grooms. You guys mean the world to us. We love watching you go from living the engaged life, planning and excited to start your life together, to married life. It is amazing. We even have our first Farmhouse baby coming soon!

2.The incredible friends and families we have met at the venue. There are a lot of people that come through the venue! We are blessed, and biased, but we truly have gotten to know some of the best families around.

3.Talented vendors and wedding pros! From hair and make-up, florists, photographers, videographers, caterers to other venue owners. We have been so grateful to meet some of the best wedding pros in the area, who also happen to be some of the best people in the area.

4.The stunning styled shoots we have had, and the amazing online and print publications that have taken the time to see our venue. It is surreal to see how each shoot transforms the Farmhouse. It is also pretty nuts to see the venue pop up in magazines and online publications.

5.We are SO thankful for the valuable lessons we have learned along the way. There is still so much to learn, and we are eager to keep growing. Thank you so much for following along on the journey. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Double Styled Shoot

We are AMPED about sharing this gorgeous styled shoot with you guys. This day was so fun and so special- and it led to some incredible shots at the venue. The incredible photography couple/ team, Luisa and Douglas (they did our amazing staff photos!), coordinated a really amazing team of vendors came out and created two separate themes that really took our breath away! You are going to love how the venue was transformed throughout the day!

Charming and Elegant

The first look of the day is this amazing “Charming and Elegant” theme. This one is so fun, flirty and whimsical. Our stunning bride for this shoot got to wear the most fun dress, which really was a showstopper. The color that her dress and the groom’s suit had, brought so much life in and really tied everything together. Every detail shows off how fun and colorful you can get with your wedding, and still have it be elegant.

Classic Black Tie

The second part of our day was a more traditional, and classic theme. Really beautiful and black tie, but just as fun and striking as the “Charming and Elegant” setup. There is a reason that “Classic Black Tie” has been around for so long. It is all around, so beautiful and timeless. It will really never go out of style!

Bonus! It doesn’t always happen this way, but we have some really fun shots from Behind The Scenes! We really can’t say enough about how hard the vendors that come to the Farmhouse work. Everyone comes in, and completely transforms the place, and we love to see how each wedding or styled shoot turns out. It is such a task to create one wedding day, let alone, doing two in one day. Garden Party Elegance | Rachel and Joe

Rachel and Joe! We love love loved this wedding, and how they transformed the Farmhouse for their big day. Every detail was stunning and elegant, with the perfect touch of fun. They really created such a gorgeous day with an effortless Garden Party elegance, that was PERFECT for spring.

Garden Party Touches

Rachel and Joe’s incredible wedding day was one for the books. They were so thoughtful in choosing what they wanted in their wedding day, and it really showed throughout the day. One of the major things we were obsessed with, was how they tied in elements that felt like a Garden Party. Their seating chart, for example, was so cute and was a really cool way to use the greenery wall, in a way we have never seen before. We really love seeing how each couple uses the Farmhouse, everyone finds new ways to make the place theirs.

Custom and Color

Since this was a springtime wedding, Rachel and Joe leaned into playing with amazing colors! Their cute blue that was brought in throughout the day, and the colors of the flowers were amazing. You may also notice an adorable, and furry, member of the wedding party. Molly, the golden! Rachel and Joe have two adorable pups, Molly and Callie. Molly got the honor of being their flower girl! However, both of them had wedding day cocktails named in their honor. Not only is it adorable, but it is SO fun to have specialty wedding day cocktails. Pick your favs, give them a cute name and boom. Drinks that everyone will remember, and will be special to you. Finally, we really can’t overlook the five… FIVE… cakes and then the stacks of macarons. If one cake is good, five cakes are better.

Something Blue Editorial | Styled Shoot

Today we have such an exciting shoot to share, that is a bit of a throwback for us! Over the past year (almost), we have gotten to work with some really amazing vendors and publications. And, we are SO thankful for that. This is a stunning styled shoot from an editoral that the “Something Blue Journal” (SBJ) in Dallas put together. We are in love with how the shoot turned out, and love that we get to share it with you.

Something Blue Journal Dallas

SBJ is a really cool publication that was created as a source of inspiration for brides, wedding planners and people who just love weddings. They do a really great magazine, that you can read online, where they show off some amazing vendors, and weddings, of all styles. We were, and still are, so thrilled that they asked us to be a part of issue 001! (We are featured throughout, but have an amazing 4 page spread on pages 32-35) Their founder/ editor has a background in weddings, so she really has seen it all. You will love flipping through the magazine!

Rainy Day Porch Wedding | Brooke and Ryan

We are back to showing off some of our amazing couples and their big days! Brooke and Ryan had such an amazing rainy day full of plan-b ceremony spots, incredible vintage details and lots and lots of special touches. We love that they are a Farmhouse Couple, and love that we get to show off their big day.

Rainy Day Leads to Plan B

Once you get to the week of your big day, there are certain things you just can’t control. The weather is number one. All of those people that say, “rain on your wedding day is good luck” mean really really well, but sometimes that isn’t comforting. We are so lucky that we get to offer amazing rain options for your ceremony. Brooke and Ryan planned on getting married outside in front of our amazing tree, but when the weather blew in they had to pivot their plan. Since they had a small enough guest list (max 150 for the porch), they chose to use our stunning porch. We do love that they spoke and prayed together at the tree before the ceremony. So many amazing couples have made their vows and promises to each other there. We loved that they added to how special that spot is.

This was our very first porch wedding, and we could not be more in love with how it looks. The weather, the time of year and their decor really worked together to make it seem like this was the plan all along. Since it was fall the sun was setting earlier, and the clouds made it a pretty dark day overall, so when they lit their candles and dimmed the lights on the porch… our jaws all dropped. The ceremony ended up being so warm, cozy and intimate.

Vintage Chic

Brooke and Ryan really had such attention to detail with every piece of their day. They were wildly intentional about every moment and touch they added. From the get-go, everything was perfect and unique to them. The more everyone was setting up, and getting dressed, the more obsessed we were with each touch. The vintage keys, Brooke’s converse and her girls’ mix and match dresses. Everything was so beautiful.

Once the ceremony was completed, they really got the night going. They did a quick cocktail hour while Brooke and Ryan had their portraits done, and then the live music kicked in. Everyone got out of their chairs and was loving the party. It was amazing to see how the live music carried right into their exit. The horns from the band followed them out and played while they made their getaway in one of the coolest cars!

Hannah’s is a great restaurant right off of the Historic Downtown Denton square. It has a great atmosphere and is so good for a group. Plus, you are within walking distance of the square! 940’s Kitchen & Cocktails

Just a block off of the downtown Denton square is 940’s! Since they opened their doors, they have been a Denton staple. It is such a cool restaurant that is nice while still being comfortable. The menu is DELISH and has something for everyone. One thing to note is that they do not have a separate party room but have a party corner on the far end of their bar. They can host a group of up to 20.

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House

Most people in the area know about Babe’s! It is exactly what it sounds like- good, delicious fried chicken and sides. It is always a crowd-pleaser and never disappoints. There are a few locations in the area, the closest being in Sanger. But, if you are staying in Frisco, there is a location there as well.

Haywire

Haywire is really neat! It is located in Legacy West, on the border of Frisco and Plano, which is an incredible shopping area. Not only is it a great location for people from out of town, but Haywire has some delicious food. The first floor is a Whisky Bar, and the second and rooftop bar have beautiful restaurant seating.

Located on the original side of Legacy, Mexican Sugar is a really cool pan-Latin restaurant! The whole vibe is kind of upscale-cantina. The food is SO good, and Legacy is a hard area to beat. Another great Steakhouse! They have amazing food and, since it is located in WinStar World Casino, there is pretty much all the entertainment you could dream of right outside the restaurant. It is just a quick drive up 35. So, if you and your family are coming in from the north, this is a great home base for everyone with endless entertainment possibilities.

The Embassy Suites is a great hotel that is not far from the venue. There is a great restaurant, Houlihan’s, inside it that is great for a welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, or even just a late-night drink and dessert. It is located in Denton with great entertainment and food options right outside of it, like Andy B’s and Alamo Drafthouse. It is also less than 10 minutes from the Historic Downtown Denton Square.

Sanger is a really cute little town that isn’t far from the venue! The Holiday Inn Express has a 15-passenger van that they offer, which is GREAT if you are having to move a crowd. The hotel also isn’t very far from the delicious Babe’s Chicken Dinner House. You will love it.

The Best Western Premier is another great option in Denton and is in a great location. Not only is it right on the other
side of 35E from Buc-ees (the BEST late-night snack run,/ all in one stop around). The Best Western Premier is also partnered with Roadrunner Transportation and offers transportation packages for staying at the hotel and booking with Roadrunner. The hotel also has great options on-site for a welcome party or just get-togethers throughout the weekend.

Dove Ranch

Dove Ranch is a stunning log cabin home that sleeps up to 12 people. It is really just a beautiful property that overlooks a pond. Dove Ranch would be the perfect place to unwind after the wedding activities that you will have throughout the weekend. It is located in Gainesville, only about 15 minutes from the venue.

White Oak Lodge

White Oak Lodge is a quick 15-minute drive from the venue. It is on the grounds of the beautiful Towering Oaks Event and Retreat Center in Valley View. The house can sleep up to 16 people and would be an amazing place to spend the weekend with your friends and family. Towering Oaks has two lodges, so if you are interested in booking both- reach out to them directly instead of through VRBO.

Wildwood Ranch- Whitesboro

Wildwood really is a cool house! It sleeps up to 12 people and has been renovated in the past couple of years. It is on 160 acres, has a pool, and there is a firepit for the chillier nights.

Farm Sweet Farm

This is a beautiful property! Situated on 5 acres, this adorable farm can host up to 16 guests. Not only is there a main house and a cottage, but there is a beautiful covered porch that would be perfect for a group. Or, even a quick rehearsal the night before the big day.

Loft Zaza- Gainesville

This place is so cool! It is a renovated loft in a historic building in downtown Gainesville. It sleeps up to 10 people, and it really is one beautiful place. If you are wanting to be a little more in town, then this is a great spot. It is only about 25 minutes from the venue to Downtown Gainesville!

Airbnb and VRBO have some really amazing options near the venue if you would prefer to stay in a house or have family that would. Definitely give those a look, but make sure you book early. The ones we recommend tend to book really fast!

Charity and Chris are officially The Bentley’s! It is so so fun to meet our incredible couples, and then get to see them become husband and wife. Charity and Chris had a beautiful day, with their entire family surrounding them. They were beaming through every minute of it, and we could not be happier that they are a French Farmhouse Couple! You are going to love seeing how they made the venue theirs!

Charity and Chris are such a fun couple! If you just read our blog about how they met, you will see what we mean. Aside from them being some of the nicest people, we have come across, one thing that stuck out to us was how much they wanted their families involved. Right down to their tiniest and newest family members! The Bentley’s have three gorgeous nieces that they wanted to be involved throughout the day. Charity really is super auntie. She had those girlies in the bridal suite getting ready with her and her ladies, and they were loving it. You can also see a snap of Chris being a super uncle when the smallest of the three decided she needed a quick snooze after the big day she had.

Everyone On The Dance Floor

This was a group that LOVED to dance. It is always a blast to see everyone get out there and move a little. And let us tell you, everyone on this guest list was there to dance. Not only does it make the party a riot, but boy there are some fun pictures to come out of it. Plus, check out that special touch Charity and Chris added to their dance… just some casual sparklers. So fun!!

The Johnson’s Intimate Ceremony | Brooke and Blake

The new Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had a STUNNING wedding at the French Farmhouse. They had such a magical day surrounded by their closest friends and family. Brooke and Blake really made the venue their own and added some gorgeous touches that put their intimate ceremony over the top.

All of us at the venue really couldn’t contain our excitement f0r Brooke and Blake’s big day. We have loved getting to know them, and have been waiting to see how they would transform the Farmhouse. Brooke and Blake are another one of those special couples that booked when all we really had was a vision to describe to them. Thankfully, they jumped right on board and became a part of the French Farmhouse family and one of our Foundation Couples.

As excited as we were for their big day, no one was as amped as Brooke. She has been SO excited for this, and could not have been giddier to become Mrs. Johnson. Intimate Ceremony and Reception

Brooke and Blake love their closest friends and family so much. It is so obvious that they are close to them, and want them to be a part of their journey. Which, is why their intimate group of people was so special to see. Back when they got engaged, Blake set it up so they would see all of their family right after, so it seemed only right that those same people were just as important on their big day. Their ceremony really had some amazing touches. They used the Farmhouse pillars but added those amazing pieces hanging from the tree, in place of an altar. So unique and stunning.
